A former IT Director with experience in cross-platform integration, he's also spent a significant amount of his time developing software including all of the technology behind Foodware.net. MC, as he is better known, works closely with Microsoft as an SME developing exams and white papers, is the LAMP Technologies Editor for LinuxWorld magazine and has written books such as the Perl and Python Complete Reference and the Microsoft IIS 6 Delta Guide.

Jeff Cogswell

Jeff Cogswell is a software engineer and writer who has been developing software for various industries, including the telecom field, since 1990. Margaret Levine Young

Margaret Levine Young has co-written several dozen computer books on topics ranging from Windows to Access to the Internet, including The Internet For Dummies, Access All-In-One Desk Reference For Dummies, Windows XP: The Complete Reference, and Poor Richard's Online Communities. Her books are always task-oriented, explaining how to do what you need to do, rather than listing software features. She has a BA in Computer Science and lives in Vermont.

Ray Lischner

Ray Lischner has been programming computers since the days of punch cards and paper tape. After earning a BS in computer science from Caltech, he developed software at large and small companies, where he was overpaid and underfulfilled. Eventually he quit the corporate rat race, and now writes books and articles about programming, consults, teaches, and speaks at conferences and user group meetings across the country. He is the author of C++ in a Nutshell, Delphi in a Nutshell, and other award-winning books about computer programming. Ray has an MS in computer science from Oregon State University.

Kirk McElhearn

Kirk McElhearn is a freelance writer, journalist and translator. He writes books about Macintosh computers and Mac OS X, has strong experience with Unix and Linux, and contributes for some of the leading Macintosh publications, including MacWorld and TidBITS.
